The Boise State Broncos, behind La'Shard Anderson's 26 points, fought off three Loyola Marymount rallies to claim a 90-87 victory in the opening game of the Karl Tyler Chevrolet Grizzly Basketball Tournament Friday.
The Broncos, who led most of the game, broke from a 45-45 halftime tie to lead by as many as nine points midway through the half.
Three other Broncos starters joined Anderson in double-figure scoring. Forward Paul Noonan and guard Kurt Cunningham scored 16 while center Ike Okoye scored 10.

Reserve Larry Davis paced Marymount with 22 points, volloewd by 17 from Vernon Teel and 16 from Kevin Young.
The fast paced, high octane game saw the Broncos hit 50 percent of their shots from the field while Marymount shot 48.5 percent.
The Broncos meet the host Montana Grizzlies - 61-37 nightcap winners over North Dakota - Saturday while Marymount faces North Dakota in the first game Saturday.
The teams fought on even terms, both in scoring and statistically. Marymount outrebounded the Broncos 36-35, but Marymount had two fewer turnovers than the Broncos (14-16).
